Train to provide professional postnatal recovery massage treatments ...

What are the benefits of Postnatal Massage

Muscle Relaxation

During labour and birth the muscles are in a constant state of contraction and release for hours. Massage helps to release the muscle memory and help the body go back to a resting state.

Waste Clearance

Massage stimulates the lymphatic system, encouraging the clear out of waste products and toxins.

Breastfeeding

Massage stimulates the production of the hormone Prolactin which is needed for milk supply

Healing

Circulation and cell regeneration are encouraged by massage. The condition of the skin is also improved (including a reduction in stretch marks)

Mood

Massage decreases the level of the stress hormone cortisol within the body and encourages the production of feel good endorphins.

Realignment

During pregnancy, labour and birth the hormone Relaxin causes the connective tissues to become more flexible- this, alongside the weight of the baby can cause a change in posture, stability and coordination. Massage helps to realign the body.

Feeling held and nurtured

Slowing down, relaxing and making time to recharge and replenish in a safe, nurturing space is a vital element of postnatal recovery

Relaxes and nourishes the muscles used when feeding

Feeding and changing often can lead to tension in the neck, shoulders and back- these areas are specifically treated during wildflower postnatal massage
